White Widow Feeding Schedule by Growth Stage

White Widow Feeding Schedule by Growth Stage

White Widow’s a hungry girl. Not at first—early on, she’s shy, almost delicate. But give her a few weeks and she’ll start demanding more than just the basics. Feeding her right isn’t about some rigid schedule or perfect ratios. It’s about watching her, listening (yeah, plants talk), and knowing when she’s just being dramatic versus when she’s actually starving. Let’s break it down by stage, but don’t treat this like gospel. It’s more like a loose map scrawled on a napkin after three beers.

Seedling stage? Chill. Don’t go dumping nutrients into her tiny root zone like you’re trying to win a science fair. She doesn’t want it. Honestly, if your medium’s halfway decent—light mix, coco, whatever—she’s got what she needs for the first 10-14 days. Maybe a splash of root stim if you’re feeling fancy. But mostly, just water. Lightly. Don’t drown her. Don’t dry her out. Keep it Goldilocks.

Now veg—this is where she starts stretching her legs. Around week 3 or so, you’ll see it. That shift. She’s not just surviving anymore, she’s growing. Fast. Start her on a light veg feed—something with a decent NPK like 3-1-2 or 4-2-3. Go easy at first, maybe 1/4 strength. Watch the tips. If they burn, back off. If she stays pale and sluggish, bump it up. Cal-mag? Probably. Especially if you’re running RO water or coco. Don’t overthink it. Just give her what she’s asking for.

By week 5, she’s probably a bushy little monster. You’ll need to up the feed—half strength, maybe more. Nitrogen’s still king here, but don’t forget the micros. Magnesium, iron, boron . . . all that weird stuff she won’t tell you she needs until it’s too late and her leaves go all Picasso on you. Feed every other watering, or every third if she’s sensitive. Some phenos are drama queens. Others are tanks. You’ll learn.

Pre-flower hits like a mood swing. One day she’s vegging, next day she’s throwing pistils and acting like she’s got somewhere to be. Time to shift gears. Lower the nitrogen, bump the phosphorus and potassium. Something like 2-4-5 or 1-3-4. Transition feeds are tricky—too much too soon and she stalls, too little and she stretches like a yoga instructor. I usually go 50/50 veg and bloom nutes for a week, then full bloom the next.

Flowering proper? She’s in full diva mode now. Weeks 3-6, she wants food. Big food. High P and K. Think 1-4-5 or 0-5-7. Feed every other watering, maybe more if she’s in coco or hydro. Watch for salt buildup. Flush if she starts looking crispy. Don’t forget the boosters—PK 13/14, molasses, whatever snake oil you believe in. Just don’t overdo it. She’ll take what she needs and leave the rest to rot in the root zone.

Late flower—weeks 7-9 or so—ease off. She’s slowing down. Fattening up. You don’t want to be pumping her full of nitrogen when she’s trying to ripen. Cut back to just bloom base, maybe a little sugar or enzyme product if you’re into that. Some folks flush for two weeks. I do one. Some don’t flush at all. Honestly? Do what works. Just don’t harvest a plant that tastes like Miracle-Gro and regret your life choices.

Every grow’s different. Every White Widow pheno’s got her own quirks. Some are greedy, some are chill. Some hate high EC, others lap it up like it’s Gatorade. The schedule’s a guide, not a rulebook. Pay attention. Take notes. Screw up a few times. That’s how you learn.

And for the love of all things green—don’t ask Reddit for feeding advice unless you want 47 conflicting answers and a headache. Just watch your plant. She’ll tell you everything you need to know. You just gotta shut up and listen.
